I enjoyed both the books you covered today. And the podcast. One of Power’s stories haunted me for years. I wrote about it here: That Elusive Story: https://www.bookreviewsandmore.ca/2005/12/that-elusive-story.html, And posted the story with the permission of his daughter: The Warm Sand https://www.bookreviewsandmore.ca/2005/12/j-f-powers-warm-sand.html I don’t know if you are aware but both of Power’s novels were ‘Fix-Up’ novels almost complete chapters from both volumes were previously published as short stories. I tracked down three different versions of The Warm Sand from over the years, and it appears almost word for word in Wheat that Spingetht Green. I did a fourth year directed reading course on Powers, reading all the original collections of Short Stories, and both novels as well as a few books about him. Thank you for this episode.
